 FOCUS HOPE:Since starting career preparation programs in 1981, Focus HOPE has helped thousands of individuals establish successful careers. Our Centers of Opportunity are:

  • Machinist Training Institute (MTI) prepares individuals for careers in the manufacturing trades. Students develop machining skills through this state licensed program.
  • Center for Advanced Technologies (CAT) educates manufacturing engineers through a unique collaboration with industry and university partners. Students get hands-on experience while studying toward associate's and bachelor's degrees.
  • Information Technologies Center (ITC) provides training toward industry certifications. The programs are in PC Technology, Network Administration and Desktop and Server Administration. This program is accredited by ACCET (Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training).
  • Fast Track courses enable individuals to improve basic skills through concentrated study.  Students can study math and/or reading. Courses also incorporate communication and computer skills.
  • Focus: HOPE is a partner with the City of Detroit Employment and Training Department and Michigan Works! Partial funding for some programs provided through the City of Detroit.

We offer education and training opportunities in manufacturing skilled trades, information technology, or engineering. You will need a high school diploma or GED to apply. For those who need reading and/or math skill enhancement, we offer a Fast Track program that enables students to dramatically improve these skills in a matter of weeks.
